We’re very excited to see Ranveer Singh once again in Rohit Shetty’s film, Cirkus. The film features Ranveer Singh playing a double role for the first time in his career, with Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde as female leads.
Recently, Pooja Hegde had said, “Don’t think I have laughed so much on a film set” on shooting ‘Cirkus’ with Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh. She also said, “The energy and the vibe of the set were so good.”
We now have got a new update on the film. As reported in Bhaskar, Rohit Shetty had hired 150 trained gymnasts and acrobats to make the film better.
A source close to the film said, “The world of a big circus company has been created. This time, the comedy has been kept serious and not loud or buffoonery. The lives of those working in the circus company have been used as metaphors. He is used as a metaphor throughout the film of how life juggles with gymnasts and acrobats working in a circus company just like a common man also keeps doing feats all his life. Wherever he gets stuck, the comedy continues to happen. Along with the main lead characters in the film, this metaphor is also present throughout the film as a sub-plot.”
The film will see the acrobatics as seen in the 90s circus. “With the character of Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty has tried to bring back the almost extinct circus culture to the public. Ranveer will be seen in the role of a circus operator in the film. The brave acrobatics and magical games that used to be in the companies of circus in the 90s are all included in this film. This has helped to make the film visually aesthetic. Rohit has shot for 15 days with those trained 150 gymnasts and acrobats. The entire film was shot for 90 days. A major part of the shoot has been given to the circus aspect. Those parts have been shot considering them as a performing art.”
It was also reported that Ranveer used to do rehearsals and reading sessions on the sets. Sources also gave an important information about Ranveer’s attitude and said, “Ranveer has become a big star, but even today he surrenders himself in front of the director’s conviction. He never demanded changes in the script during the shoot. The films has been shot mostly in the night, due to which the actors faced a lot of difficulty in commuting to and fro from the location. Even the acquaintances wouldn’t call during that time. Additional help was also received in following the Covid protocols. Also, Ranveer used to get two additional hours and he used to rehearse daily with the rest of the actors on the set. This way he would get a chance to prepare for the character during the shoot itself and they did not have to do separate reading sessions etc. The rehearsals on the sets were done in plain clothes and then everyone used to come in their character costumes.”
Ranveer Singh was also seen in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba which released in cinemas in December 2018 and was successful at box office. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh also has YRF’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar in his pipeline.
