Shah Rukh Khan is not just the king of romance; he’s also winning hearts with his quick wit. When it comes to clever comebacks, no one does it better than SRK.
Imagine someone questioning him about living in a modest 2-BHK, his dancing skills, or what romance will look like after he retires. You’d expect nothing less than hilariously clever responses. That’s exactly what happened when Karan Johar hosted a fun Q&A session with SRK.
Shah Rukh Khan Gives A Witty Response To KJO’s Question On Living In An Apartment
During a special segment of IIFA 2024, co-hosted by Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar took to the stage with some intriguing questions that left the audience in stitches.
Karan’s first query was, “You live in Mannat, a bungalow, but have you ever thought about living in an apartment?” Did he expect a straightforward answer? Not at all! When you ask the king, you get the royal treatment. SRK’s witty reply was, “Ho hi nahi sakta na, kyunki mere upar koi ho hi nahi sakta. Main actors ki ceiling hoon” (See, that’s not possible because no one can be above me. I am the ceiling of all actors), prompting roars of laughter from the crowd.
The fun didn’t stop there. Karan then questioned about the future of romance, asking what would happen after SRK retires. In true form, the King of Romance responded, “Actually, romance will retire with me.” The crowd erupted again.
Karan further asked Shah Rukh if he thinks he’s a good dancer. SRK quipped, “Mujhe dancing ki zaroorat hi nahi padti, puri film industry mere ungliyon pe nachti hai” (I don’t need to dance; the film industry sways to my fingertips). This drew another round of enthusiastic applause.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Work Front
SRK made a grand return to the silver screen with Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan in January 2023. In the film, he showcased an action-packed avatar that left audiences in awe.
Pathaan shattered numerous box office records, securing its place among the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema. This marked SRK’s first hit after a four-year hiatus, during which he faced a string of box office flops like Zero and Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Following Pathaan, SRK starred in Jawan and Dunki, and he is now gearing up for his next big action film, King, which is set to start filming in January 2025.
