The recent appearance of Shah Rukh Khan at Mehboob Studios in Bandra sent fans into a frenzy. Many speculated that the Bollywood superstar was testing a new look for an upcoming film. Rumours spread that he was teaming up with filmmaker Shoojit Sircar for a big-screen project.
However, the truth is quite different. According to reports, SRK and Sircar have indeed collaborated, but for an advertisement and not a film.
Shah Rukh Khan To Appear In A Cookie Brand’s Ad Helmed By Shoojit Sircar
A report by Mid-Day confirms that Shah Rukh Khan recently shot an advertisement for a popular cookie brand. The ad was directed by Shoojit Sircar, which led to confusion about a possible movie.
A source close to the production revealed, “Shah Rukh’s look was so distinct that people assumed it was a look test. It led to rumours about him fronting Shoojit’s next feature film. But the two actually teamed up for a cookie commercial. The ad has a slice-of-life appeal.”
The report also states that SRK was deeply involved in the shoot. He worked closely with Sircar to fine-tune every detail. The source added, “He brought his usual charm. The campaign will air in two weeks.”
The ad shoot reportedly began on February 28 in the afternoon and wrapped up by nightfall.
Interestingly, SRK and Sircar have known each other since their early days in Delhi, making this collaboration even more special.
SRK’s Upcoming Projects
On the film front, SRK has a packed schedule as he is set to star in King, directed by Siddharth Anand. Initially, Sujoy Ghosh was attached to direct the project. The film is also a major milestone for SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan, as it marks her big-screen debut. Suhana stepped into acting with The Archies on Netflix in 2023.
Additionally, SRK is expected to make a special appearance in The Ba**ds of Bollywood, the directorial debut of his son, Aryan Khan. The highly anticipated series will soon premiere on Netflix.
SRK’s last theatrical release was Dunki in 2023, where he starred alongside Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal.
