Sidharth Malhotra is shifting gears from action-packed and patriotic films to a romantic drama with his upcoming project, Param Sundari. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film has begun its first schedule in Navi Mumbai. For the first time, Sidharth will share the screen with Janhvi Kapoor, who is expected to join the shoot in January.
The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and is reportedly part of a new cinematic universe outside the studio’s well-known horror-comedy franchise.
The title, Param Sundari, is said to take inspiration from Kriti Sanon’s popular song from Mimi. Rumours of Kriti making a cameo in the movie are doing the rounds, but there’s no confirmation yet.

In the film, Sidharth plays a suave businessman from Delhi, while Janhvi portrays a free-spirited artist from Kerala. This cultural clash is expected to bring a refreshing twist to the story. The ongoing Mumbai shoot focuses on key moments of the male lead’s emotional journey, with scenes being filmed at locations in Nerul and Kharghar.
A source revealed to mid-day, “This phase is all about capturing the male lead’s emotional journey,” revealed a source close to the project. “
Jannhvi Kapoor is all set to join the sets early next month (Jan 2025). The source added, “Once Janhvi joins the set in January, the team will dive into filming the romantic segments.”
After completing the Mumbai schedule, the crew plans to shoot in Kerala and Delhi to bring authenticity to the film’s setting. The production is expected to finish by 2025, with multiple schedules planned across various locations.

Sidharth Malhotra was last seen in the action-packed Yodha, but the big-budget film struggled at the box office. Despite this, he has exciting projects on the horizon. Alongside Param Sundari, he is reportedly set to appear in Race 4 with Saif Ali Khan and in VVAN: Force of the Forest with Sara Ali Khan.
Janhvi Kapoor, on the other hand, faced a box-office disappointment with Ulajh. She later appeared in the Telugu film Devara and is now gearing up for her next project, Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari, opposite Varun Dhawan.
