The Race franchise is ready to hit the screens again with Race 4, and the excitement among fans is already building. Producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed that the upcoming instalment will be a reboot, and Saif Ali Khan, the original star, is set to make his return.
But that’s not all—there’s an exciting development in the works.
Sidharth Malhotra In Final Talking Stage For A Role In Race 4
Sidharth Malhotra is in advanced talks to join the cast, potentially sharing the screen with Saif in this high-octane action thriller.
According to a report from Pinkvilla, Sidharth Malhotra has shown a strong interest in becoming part of the Race franchise. He’s been in discussions with Ramesh Taurani for a while now, indicating that things are moving forward.
A source close to the project shared, “While Ramesh Taurani has got a team of in-house writers to develop the basic plot of Race 4, he has outsourced it to some of the seasoned writers and directors to develop it into a screenplay. While the writing work is on, he has initiated conversations with Sidharth Malhotra to play the leading man of Race 4 alongside Saif Ali Khan. Sid is a big fan of the Race Franchise and is interested in doing the film”
Filming Expected To Begin In Early 2025
The production team is gearing up for an ambitious start, aiming to begin filming in the first half of 2025. Right now, their focus is on finalising the script to ensure that this new chapter in the Race saga lives up to expectations.
The Race franchise has always thrived on the intense and often antagonistic relationships between its male leads. Whether it was Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna in Race, Saif and John Abraham in Race 2, or Salman Khan and Bobby Deol in Race 3, the series has consistently delivered edge-of-your-seat confrontations.
Sidharth Malhotra & Saif Ali Khan To Lock Horns In Race 4
Race 4 looks set to continue this tradition, with a dramatic face-off between Saif and Sidharth. The source revealed, “Staying true to the world of this franchise, the Race franchise is getting a reboot with a face-off between Saif and Sid. It’s a pure two-hero film, with both the characters having shades of grey”
This rivalry promises to bring the tension and thrills that fans of the series have come to expect.
But it’s not just the central conflict that’s creating a buzz. The film is expected to boast a strong ensemble cast, adding layers of excitement and glamour to the mix. The source added, “The film is being planned on a grand scale, and Ramesh Taurani and his team have immense faith in the franchise.” This level of ambition suggests that Race 4 will be a visual and narrative spectacle.
Both Saif and Sidharth are likely to officially sign on to the project once the final script is completed, which is expected around November 2024. Although both actors have shown a positive interest, their final commitment will hinge on how well the narrative aligns with their expectations.
With the script nearing completion and production set to kick off next year, fans can expect Race 4 to be an explosive addition to the franchise
