Hombale Films is back in action with Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to the blockbuster Kantara. Following the film’s massive success, Rishab Shetty and the production team are determined to raise the bar even higher.
The film has now entered its third shooting schedule, which will consist of an intense 60-day continuous shoot.
Here’s How Rishab Shetty Has Prepared For His Role
Rishab Shetty, who directs and stars in the film, has been preparing rigorously for his role. He has undergone extensive training in horse riding and Kalaripayattu, an ancient Indian martial art.
This training will play a key role in the film, especially during the action sequences, where Kalaripayattu will be prominently featured. Rishab has been honing his skills for over a year, making sure he is well-prepared for the demanding scenes ahead.
In addition to Rishab’s dedication, Hombale Films is also focused on enhancing the film’s action elements. They are currently in discussions with top stunt choreographers to ensure the action sequences are top-notch.
Among those approached is Todor Lazarov, who is well-known for his impressive work on the hit film RRR. With a team like this, expectations are high for the action to be spectacular.
About Kantara: Chapter 1
Kantara: Chapter 1 aims to explore the origins of Panjurli Daiva and Guliga, the revered deities from the original film. This storyline has generated significant excitement among fans eager to learn more about the rich mythological and historical aspects the film promises to uncover.
The production team is committed to setting new standards in Indian filmmaking, building on the foundation laid by the first film.
Alongside Rishab, some familiar faces from the original Kantara are expected to return, although the complete cast for Kantara: Chapter 1 has yet to be officially revealed.
The team also welcomes back composer Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematographer Aravind Kashyap, both of whom contributed to the success of the first film.
With production in full swing, Kantara: Chapter 1 is on track for a mid-2025 release. Rishab Shetty is also set to take on the role of Hanuman in Prashanth Varma’s upcoming film, Jai Hanuman. However, he has made it clear that he will focus on completing his commitments for Kantara: Chapter 1 before diving into this new project.
