The film ‘Chehre,’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, had a sluggish start at the box office. Over the previous two days, the film, which was only the second big-budget Bollywood film to release in theatres this August, has received a dismal response.

The film debuted with the collection of Rs 45 lakh and went on to earn an additional Rs 65 lakh on Saturday. The film went on to add 1 cr in its kitty on Sunday. With this, the film’s total now stands at an estimated Rs 2.05 cr.

Day 2 Saturday – 65 lacs nett
Day 3 Sunday – 1 cr
This is a low collection for a film that was shot on a large scale and has excellent production quality.
The mystery drama ‘Chehre,’ which is presently in its second week of release, shared the box office with the Akshay Kumar action film ‘Bell Bottom,’ which is also in its second week of release.

The makers of ‘Chehre’ opted for a standard theatrical release rather than an OTT release. Several films, however, have underperformed at the box office as a result of covid-19 restrictions and 50 percent occupancy in theatres.
