Kunal Kemmu, who impressed everyone with his directorial debut Madgaon Express, is now interested in making Go Goa Gone 2. The first film released in 2013 and became a cult hit. It featured Saif Ali Khan as a quirky zombie hunter.
Talks about a sequel have been going on for years. Now, Kemmu has shared his thoughts on directing it.
Kunal Kemmu On Go Goa Gone 2
Kemmu recently revealed that he would love to direct the sequel. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I’d love to work with him again, and honestly, if they ask me to direct a sequel, I would love to make it.” His words have sparked fresh excitement among fans waiting for Go Goa Gone 2.
Kemmu also spoke about the challenges of directing a sequel. He pointed out that audiences come in with expectations, which makes things difficult. Unlike original films, sequels are always compared to the first part. This pressure can make the filmmaking process tricky.
Is Go Goa Gone 2 Finally Happening?
Even though Kemmu is interested, the sequel has not been officially confirmed. There are rumours that the film might start shooting this year. However, nothing has been locked in yet.
Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan has a packed schedule. He was last seen in Devara Part 1. He is now preparing for the release of his Netflix film Jewel Thief. He also has Race 4, Dining With The Kapoors, Shootout at Byculla, and Devara 2 in the pipeline. If all goes well, he might also start a film with his daughter Sara Ali Khan.
Right now, Go Goa Gone 2 is still uncertain. But with Kemmu’s interest and Saif’s past involvement, fans can only hope for good news soon.
