Akshay Kumar has been talking about his upcoming films, including the highly anticipated sequels to OMG, Rowdy Rathore, and Hera Pheri 3. At the same time, he’s promoting his latest aerial-action film, Sky Force, which is set to release on Republic Day 2025.
Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur, the film is a tribute to the Indian Armed Forces, especially the heroes of India’s first airstrike during the 1965 Indo-Pak War. Akshay and Veer Pahariya discussed their film and other exciting updates.
Akshay Kumar Shares Updates On His OMG 3, Hera Pheri 3 & More
When it comes to OMG 3, Akshay shared that the script is still being worked on. He told Pinkvilla, “I will try and crack the script for OMG 3 soon. The last part released just a year and a half back, but the attempts are on for OMG 3.”
Fans of the franchise are eagerly waiting for the next instalment, following the success of the previous two films.
Akshay also expressed his enthusiasm for Hera Pheri 3. “Even I am waiting to start Hera Pheri 3. I don’t know, but if everything goes well, it will start this year,” he revealed.
Reflecting on the success of the first Hera Pheri, he added, “When we started Hera Pheri, we didn’t know it would go ahead to become such a cult. Even when I saw the film, I didn’t understand. Yes, it was funny, but none of us expected the characters of Babu Bhaiya, Raju, and Shyam to become a cult.”
When asked about the possibility of starring in a superhero film, Akshay showed interest but made it clear that it would depend on the script. “What kind of superhero you want me to be? The one who can fly or the one who can run? Let me try to find a superhero film, and if I get something nice, I will do it for sure,” he said.
Akshay On Rowdy Rathore 2 And Absence From BB 2 & 3
Fans have been eagerly asking for a sequel to Rowdy Rathore since the 2012 blockbuster’s massive success. However, Akshay revealed that there is no progress on the sequel as of now. “There is no movement on Rowdy Rathore 2 right now, but if it’s in the pipeline, I will definitely inform everyone about it,” he said.
In response to a fan’s question about his absence from the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, Akshay joked, “Beta, mujhey nikaal diya tha. (I was removed) That’s it.”
Talking about his latest release, Sky Force is a special one as it marks the debut of Veer Pahariya. Set to hit theatres on January 24, the film promises to be an action-packed tribute to India’s military heroes.
