Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is juggling her roles as a BJP MP and a busy film star, is making headlines for a different reason. The Bollywood star is reportedly putting her Mumbai bungalow on the market for a whopping Rs 40 crore.
Kangana Ranaut SELLING Her Bandra Bungalow?
The property in question is located in Bandra’s upscale Pali Hill area, where it also houses the office of her production company, Manikarnika Films. With Kangana spending most of her time in New Delhi and Himachal Pradesh due to her political duties, the decision to sell seems to be part of a broader personal and professional strategy.
The bungalow, covering a spacious 3,042 square feet, includes two floors and sits on a plot of 285 square meters. In addition to the living space, the property offers a 500-square-foot parking area. It’s clear that this property is more than just a home—it’s a significant asset that has played a key role in Kangana’s career.
The reports about the sale gained traction after a video by Code Estate surfaced online. The video showcased an office space up for sale, hinting strongly that it belonged to Kangana. Although the video didn’t name the production house or its owner, the visuals and comments from social media users quickly connected the dots to Kangana’s property.
Her Legal Battle With BMC Over The Same Property In The Past
The news is particularly notable given the property’s tumultuous history. Back in September 2020, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished parts of the bungalow, claiming some sections were illegal. This led to a significant public and legal battle, with Kangana accusing the Shiv Sena and then-Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of targeting her out of revenge.
The actress even sought Rs 2 crore in compensation. Though the Bombay High Court stayed the demolition midway, Kangana later dropped the charges against BMC in May 2023.
Kangana Ranaut: Work Front
Talking about her professional front, Kangana is preparing for the release of her next film, Emergency. In this highly anticipated movie, she takes on the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. After several delays, Emergency is scheduled to hit theatres on September 6, 2024.
Kangana has not yet commented officially on the sale of her Mumbai property.
