Sadia Khateeb Embraces Comedy in ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’ with Neetu Kapoor & Kapil Sharma
Following her breakout performance in Shikara (2020) — followed by Raksha Bandhan and The Diplomat — Sadia Khateeb steps from those serious themes and films and into family comedy and fun with Dadi Ki Shaadi, her new, light-hearted entertainer featuring Neetu Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.
Speaking about her recent experience shooting the film in Shimla, the actress, who was born in Jammu, described it as the most fun she has had — on any project — in her career.
A Light-Hearted Shift In Sadia’s Filmography
After a two-month shoot, Sadia said:
“I just came back from the shoot a day ago. I don’t know the destiny of the film or mine, but I know that I’ve never had this much fun on a film set.”
Known for serious and dramatic films, Sadia explained that, although this film is “much lighter, it’s still full of heart.” She did not divulge any plot details, but she mentioned how there was a “great ensemble” and how she was blown away by several storyline themes that are emotionally grounded but still funny — that really set this film apart from anything she has ever done before.

The actress spoke fondly of her first impression of the director:
“When I walked into his office, I thought he is a creative genius. [He’s got] an arty office. I’ve only seen his work and it’s so good, I’m just looking forward to starting this journey next month.”
With her upcoming role schedule, Sadia intends to balance meaningful roles with commercial entertainers.
