Sanjay Dutt is ready to bring a high-energy role to the screen in Sohail Khan’s upcoming comedy film. The film also features Aayush Sharma, who will play a cool and relatable character with a boy-next-door charm. The story is set in Punjab and mixes action, humour, and a touch of gangster drama.
Sohail Khan, who earlier worked on films like Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya and Jai Ho, had been planning his dream project Sher Khan for years. But now, he’s taking a new route with this untitled comedy. It also marks his reunion with Sanjay Dutt after their 2002 film Maine Dil Tujhko Diya.
Sanjay Dutt Reunites With Sohail Khan For A Two-Hero Comedy Film
A source close to the development shared with Pinkvilla, “Sohail has been developing a two-hero comedy film for a while now, and he is collaborating with Sanjay Dutt on the same. Multiple meetings have already taken place between Sanju and Sohail, and the duo are all excited to collaborate on this script. It features Sanjay Dutt in a larger-than-life avatar.”
The film will have Aayush Sharma as the second lead. He earlier appeared in Antim and Loveyatri. The source added, “Aayush Sharma will have a boy-next-door look, different from the larger-than-life presence of Sanjay Dutt in this yet untitled comedy.”
The film will highlight situational humour instead of typical slapstick jokes. It will focus on today’s generation and their taste in comedy. The plot also includes subtle gangster elements, which give it some extra drama and depth.
Filming In The Second-Half Of 2025
Sohail and his team plan to start filming in the second half of 2025. Right now, they’re busy with pre-production. Sohail will produce the film under his own banner. A studio is also expected to join as a co-producer. Talks are going on with a top player from the industry.
This film promises an exciting duo. Sanjay’s intense screen presence will contrast well with Aayush’s casual vibe. Their chemistry could bring fresh energy to the genre.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt also has another film lined up with Salman Khan. Titled Ganga Ram, the film will have Salman as Ganga and Sanjay as Ram. Debutant Krish Ahir will direct the project.
