EXCLUSIVE: Toxic Release Date In Doubt Again As Yash Starrer Eyes August Instead Of June 4

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is headed for another release-date reset. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the film is no longer expected to arrive on June 4, and August has now emerged as the target window for its theatrical launch. The Independence Day holiday corridor is being looked at as the most viable landing spot for the ambitious multilingual release.

This marks the second shift for one of 2026’s most anticipated Indian films. Toxic was originally scheduled for March 19, 2026, before KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations moved it to June 4, citing tensions in the Middle East, a key overseas market in the film’s international strategy. The latest development now pushes the film further down the release calendar as the team works through final formalities.

Inside The High Stakes Behind Toxic’S Delay

The June 4 date has fallen out of play because crucial release-stage work is still pending. The film is yet to secure certification from the Central Board of Film Certification, and its digital rights deal has also not been closed. Final-stage patchwork and finishing touches have added to the delay, leaving very little room for a smooth theatrical rollout on the earlier date.

The production’s immediate attention has also been on KD: The Devil, which arrived on April 24, 2026. With that release now behind the banner, the focus is expected to shift fully to Toxic and its revised launch plan. For a film mounted at this scale, the release strategy requires clean alignment across certification, digital rights, and theatrical execution, and that process is now steering the project toward August.

What Makes Toxic One Of 2026’S Biggest Event Films

Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas and stars Yash in the lead, alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. It is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. The film has been mounted as a period gangster drama and is being positioned as a large-scale multilingual release.

The official story setup places the film in old-world Goa, where a dangerous drug cartel thrives beneath a glamorous exterior. That blend of period mood, crime drama, and Yash’s post-KGF Chapter 2 screen image has turned Toxic into one of the most closely tracked titles on the 2026 release slate.

As things stand, Toxic has moved beyond its June 4 plan, with August now the release window in focus for Yash’s next theatrical outing.
