Director Shashank Khaitan, who is known for his successful films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Dhadak, is now venturing into the world of long-form content with Kunal Kemmu starrer web series Single Papa.
After wrapping up Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar, Khaitan is shifting his focus to the small screen. The series is set to begin filming in the summer of 2025.
Kunal Kemmu Starrer Single Pappa To Be A Slice-Of-Life Web Series
As per a Pinkvilla report, Single Papa is expected to be a slice-of-life sitcom, created with families in mind. The show will explore the life of a single parent, with a humorous and heartwarming tone.
A source close to the project said, “Shashank has developed a subject titled Single Papa and believes that the family entertainer has scope to be a perfect sit-com for the viewers at home.”
The report revealed that Kunal Kemmu has been cast to play the lead role of the single parent. His knack for comedy and relatable performances has already made fans excited about his role.
Casting Underway With Filming In Summer 2025
The casting process is still underway, with plans to bring together a talented cast to complement Kemmu’s role. The source added, “The idea is to cast talents with a certain amount of comic timing,” and mentioned that the full cast will be revealed soon.
While working on Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Khaitan is also developing another feature film with younger heroes. This film is said to be similar to Pyaar Ka Punchnama & focuses on relationships with a humorous twist. It will be a home production for Khaitan, who is deeply passionate about the story.
