Kartik Aaryan has made a name for himself in the Hindi film industry, despite starting out as an outsider. After debuting with Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011, he went on to star in popular films like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi, and most recently, the hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The actor recently spoke about the rising costs of actor entourage and the impact it has on film producers.
At SCREEN Live in Mumbai, Kartik addressed the controversy surrounding entourage fees & called it “blown out of proportion.”
Kartik Aaryan On Actors’ Entourage Cost Debate
He clarified that not all actors follow the same practices in this regard. “A lot of the times, these things are blown out of proportion. Even if one or two people have such habits, people think everyone is doing the same. We are very mindful about such things, be it our entourage fees or business of the film,” Kartik explained.
He further added that the success of a film is important to everyone involved and that everyone should be paid fairly. “Everyone wants their film to make profits, and the whole team should get paid an appropriate amount. No one should get less money. When there were so many rumours coming up about entourage fees recently, I felt that it was blown out of proportion,” he said.
Kartik also pointed out that he is careful with his own entourage costs. “This is not something that exists with every personality or actor that you see right now. It might be happening with some people, but not everyone. As for me, I always try that my whole team as well as the producers should be happy in paying their amounts,” he said, emphasising his balanced approach.
Actor On The Issue Of Some Filmmakers Inflating BO Numbers
Kartik was also asked about the practice of filmmakers inflating box office numbers. He acknowledged the confusion surrounding the issue and explained, “It depends—some people do it, and some don’t. It has reached a level where the lines are so blurred that you don’t even know what’s happening. Sometimes, you have to make a guess yourself about how much a film has actually earned.”
On the work front, Kartik’s success with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has further established him as a major star in Bollywood. He has several exciting projects lined up, including Aashiqui 3 and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Teri Tu Mera.
