It seems like Khushi Kapoor is ready for a new chapter in her career. After starring in two romantic comedies, she now wants to explore darker stories. In a recent interview, she shared her interest in thriller-horror films, which hinted at a bold shift in her choices.
Khushi Kapoor Desires To Star In Dark Stories
Khushi made her big screen debut with Loveyapa alongside Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan. This Advait Chandan directorial received mixed reactions after its release and failed miserably at the box office.
Her latest release Nadaaniyan is a Netflix film co-starring Ibrahim Ali Khan. It has also struggled to impress with critics and social media users criticising its plot, dialogues and performances.
Khushi remains hopeful amid the heavy backlash. In an interview with Grazia India, she shared her desire to try new genres. She said, “I’ve always been curious to see what the process of a thriller-horror movie would look like; maybe not completely horror but something a bit darker than the movies I’ve done so far.”
Khushi Kapoor On Her Most Challenging Role So Far
Khushi also reflected on her journey in Bollywood. She spoke about her characters in The Archies, Loveyapa, and Nadaaniyan. She revealed that she follows a different approach for each role and tries to connect with every character.
When asked about her most challenging role, she picked Bani from Loveyapa. She said, “That character was the furthest from what I’m like in real life.”

About Nadaaniyan And Loveyapa
Nadaaniyan follows Pia (Khushi Kapoor), a wealthy Delhi socialite who hires Arjun (Ibrahim Ali Khan), a middle-class student, to pose as her boyfriend. Their fake romance becomes complicated when real feelings emerge. The film explores modern relationships, social pressures, and the influence of digital interactions.
Loveyapa is another romantic drama that follows Gaurav (Junaid Khan) and Baani (Khushi Kapoor). Their relationship is tested when Baani’s father forces them to swap phones before marriage. Secrets come out, challenging their trust. The film highlights modern relationships and the struggles of love in the digital era.
With rom-coms not working in her favour, Khushi is now looking for a fresh start. If she finds the right thriller-horror film, she might surprise audiences with a new side of her acting skills. Fans will have to wait and see what she does next.
