The much-awaited adaptation of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has officially been announced. Producer Namit Malhotra took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the exciting news.
He revealed that the legendary epic will be released in two parts. Ramayana Part One is set to hit theatres on Diwali 2026, followed by Part Two on Diwali 2027.

The announcement came with the unveiling of the film’s first poster, which features a powerful image of an arrow against a fiery sky.
Malhotra expressed his excitement about the project & shared a heartfelt message with fans.
He wrote, “More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen.”
The filmmaker added, “Today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully as our teams work tirelessly with only one purpose: to present the most authentic, sacred, and visually stunning adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture—our Ramayana—for people across the world.”
Malhotra confirmed the release with a poster that revealed, “Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.”

About The Film
The Ramayana film has also generated a buzz due to its star-studded cast. Ranbir Kapoor has been cast as Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will take on the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will play the iconic villain Ravana. Lara Dutta will portray Kaikeyi, and Sunny Deol will bring the mighty Hanuman to life. Sheeba Chaddha is set to play the scheming Manthara.
Earlier this year, a leaked picture from the set featuring Ranbir and Sai in costume sparked a viral wave on social media. The makers then imposed strict rules to avoid further leaks.
