Netflix unveiled the first-look poster of Maharaj, starring Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan, marking his debut in theatres on June 14.
A collaboration between Netflix and Yash Raj Productions, the film delves into the true story of the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, portraying a clash between a powerful religious leader and a courageous journalist.
Junaid Khan Is A Fearless Journalist In Maharaj First-Look Poster
The poster reveals Jaideep playing the religious leader and Junaid as the intrepid journalist in the 1800s. Jaideep adorns religious attire, while Junaid dons a white shirt with a khaki jacket. The narrative follows a journalist’s quest for truth against a revered societal figure, exposing a series of societal upheavals.
Sharing the poster on Instagram, Netflix wrote, “The fight for the truth between a powerful man and a fearless journalist. Based on true events – Maharaj is releasing on 14 June.”
As stated in IMDb’s official synopsis, this film depicts the epic David versus Goliath tale set in the 1800s. It highlights the relentless pursuit of truth by a journalist confronting a revered yet flawed symbol of society.
Sharvari, who shares the screen with Junaid, lauded his amiable persona and professional demeanour. She had shared her enjoyable experience working with him, attributing their shared energy to being in similar phases of their acting careers.
About Maharaj
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra, Maharaj promises to captivate audiences with its portrayal of Mulji’s acts of valour. Scheduled for release on Netflix on June 14, the film also features actresses Shalini Pandey and Sharvari.
Following his debut in Maharaj, Junaid is set to star alongside Sai Pallavi in a forthcoming film, reportedly titled Ek Din.
