Fans of Prabhas have been eagerly waiting for his upcoming horror-comedy, The Raja Saab. The film’s release has been pushed from late 2025 to January 9, 2026, and the reason behind the delay has finally been revealed. In a candid interview, producer TG Vishwa Prasad has made some serious accusations against the film’s VFX supervisor.
Prasad did not mince words, stating that the supervisor was in “extortion mode” and is the main person responsible for the film’s schedule being disrupted. This explosive claim has sent shockwaves through the industry and among fans who were looking forward to seeing the film this year.
Producer Makes Serious Allegations
Speaking to a Telugu news channel, TG Vishwa Prasad opened up about the troubles the production faced. He claimed the VFX supervisor, who some on Reddit believe is Kamal Kannan, caused a huge delay. The producer stated, “He made us delay our movie because he didn’t do any of the work until October 2024. We were supposed to come in April 2025.”
Prasad accused the supervisor of simply collecting his monthly fees for himself and his team without delivering a single shot of VFX work. He also alleged that the supervisor threatened the film’s director, Maruthi, saying he would quit the project if questioned. This created a difficult situation for the entire team, effectively stalling the film’s progress.
‘Pushpa 2’ Connection And Past Issues
According to the producer, the supervisor abandoned his responsibilities for The Raja Saab because he got busy with another massive project, Pushpa 2: The Rule. This left The Raja Saab team in a lurch. Prasad added that this is not the first time the supervisor has done this, mentioning that he was recently “kicked out of SS Rajamouli’s film” as well.
The producer ended with a strong warning, saying, “Someday, I’ll show him what the fee is for his extortion.” This is not the first time Prasad’s production house, People Media Factory, has faced delays. Their 2022 hit Karthikeya 2 was also delayed multiple times before its eventual successful release.
What’s Next For The Raja Saab?
Despite the major setback, the film is now on track for its new release date of January 9, 2026. The horror-comedy has a star-studded cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, and Nidhhi Agerwal alongside Prabhas. Billed as a pan-India release, the film aims to deliver a unique cinematic experience to audiences across the country.
